Daniel Zingaro

Professor Dan Zingaro is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, and the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). He is an internationally recognized expert in computing education, having won awards for his research on peer instruction (#4 on the ACM SIGCSE Top Ten Papers of All Time in 2019 and the Chair’s Award at ICER in 2014) and having released many of his peer instruction materials for the community. Dan has also recently written two books: a no-nonsense, no-math guide to algorithms and data structures and an introductory guide to Python programming. Dan’s teaching has previously been recognized by the UTM Teaching Excellence Award for Junior Faculty (2019) and University of Toronto Early Career Teaching Award (2019).
