Zhen Ming (Jack)
- York University
Dr. Zhen Ming (Jack) Jiang is a prolific early career researcher in the field of software engineering with expertise in software maintenance, software testing and software analysis. His career has encompassed accomplishments at BlackBerry (RIM) and now is an associate professor in the department of electrical engineering and computer science at the Lassonde School of Engineering at York University.
He is a leading researcher in the areas of load testing, software performance engineering, and log and logging code analysis. Many of the techniques that he has developed are widely adopted by leading IT companies such as BlackBerry, Alibaba and Baidu. His work has been recognized with five best paper awards: (1) the Best Paper Award at ICST 2016, (2) 2015 IEEE Software Best Software Engineering in Practice (SEIP) paper award at ICSE 2015, (3) ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award at ICSE 2013, (4) Best Paper Award at WCRE 2011, and (5) Best Challenge Paper Award at MSR 2009. He has published over 60 full length journal and conference papers, many of which appear in the top tier software engineering venues (e.g., ICSE, FSE, ASE, TSE, and TOSEM). He co-founded and created the research community around Load Testing and Benchmarking software systems (LTB) and has organized over 10 different international research workshops/conferences. He received an NSERC Accelerator Supplement due to his research contributions and is a senior member of the IEEE.
