The School of Computer Science at the University of Guelph invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The anticipated start date for this appointment is September 1, 2025, or another mutually agreed-upon date in 2025.
The successful candidate is expected to establish an internationally recognized scholarship program and secure external funding from tri-council agencies (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR) or similarly prestigious funding agencies. They will also be expected to supervise graduate students in the current MSc and PhD programs. The candidate will typically teach three courses per year at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 80% of their time will be divided equally between scholarship and teaching, with the remaining 20% for providing service to the School, College, University, and scholarship community at large.
As of Fall 2024, the School of Computer Science has over 1,200 undergraduate students enrolled across its three undergraduate programs and about 120 graduate students in its four graduate programs. It is currently experiencing a growth cycle in both undergraduate and graduate enrollments. The School is currently supported by 28 faculty members and 11 staff members.
