You can buy tickets for the CS-Can Student Symposium by visiting our Eventbrite page. You can also purchase other types of tickets such as the CS-Can Annual Meeting ticket, however, the CS-Can Student Symposium tickets are the only tickets that grant access to our Symposium events.
|Ticket Type||Early Bird|

(by May 25th)
|CS-Can Student Symposium |
– Student Rate*
|CS-Can Student Symposium |

*Please note that we will provide lanyards upon check-in that will indicate which ticket you have purchased. Lanyards must be worn at all times to gain admittance to paid events. Students and postdocs will be required to provide proof of their status using university-issued ID upon check-in.
The registration fee includes all meals during the symposium and admission to all symposium events: the workshop, poster and lighting pitch presentation sessions, the student social, community mixer and CS-Can | Info-Can Awards Dinner. However, while there is no additional cost for the awards dinner the number of seats available is limited, so we reserve the right to restrict attendance to this dinner on a first-registered-first-served basis. Attendance to the student social is optional and you will be requested to mark your attendance when you register.
Which ticket option is right for me?
This depends on who you are, and what portions of the Annual Meeting and/or Student Symposium you wish you attend. If you are a student or postdoc who wants to attend the CS-Can Student Symposium, then you should select the “CS-Can Student Symposium – Student Rate” ticket (either Early or Regular, depending on which is available). Please note that these tickets include admission to the Awards Dinner. You will be asked to confirm your attendance in the system, and we will contact you again before the Symposium to confirm your seat availability. Seats will be assigned in registration order while quantities last. Students and postdocs are also welcome to attend only the Awards Dinner, or only the NSERC presentation and AGM if they so wish.
If you are a department chair, faculty member, or industry member who wishes to attend the CS-Can Student Symposium, please select the non-student ticket option for the symposium. Please note that this ticket option will include access to all other (public) portions of the 2019 CS-Can Annual Meeting (including the awards dinner), so you should also choose this ticket option if you plan to attend part of the student symposium and part of the CS-Can Annual Meeting. If you are a sponsor or an award winner, please also enter your discount code for a complimentary ticket.
All deadlines are at 11:59 PM UTC – 12.
Anyone cancelling their registration one week or more prior to the symposium will be refunded the full amount paid.
Anyone cancelling within a week prior to the conference and all no-shows will not be refunded any amount.
Registration will be considered complete and valid upon reception of the full payment of fees.
If you require financial assistance to attend the CS-Can Student Symposium, please contact us separately. Financial assistance for presenting authors will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and subject to sufficient funding from sponsors.
When making your travel arrangements, we recommend using our contracted hotel room block at La Citadelle, which provides hotel-style accommodations in a recently-renovated student residence building owned and operated by McGill. The hotel address is 410 Sherbrooke Street West in Montreal. It is about 30 minutes from YUL airport via taxi, depending on time of day and traffic, and about an 8 minute walk to the meeting rooms on the McGill University campus.
Reservations can be made by phone using (514) 398-5200, or by email request sent to firstname.lastname@example.org Make sure to mention the “CS-Can/Info-Can” room block. The room rate is $139 per night plus taxes for single or double occupancy. We also have a few “junior suites” available for $189 per night plus taxes if you need a kitchenette or a little bit more space to move around. The reservation deadline for the room block is April 1, 2019. You can still reserve accommodation after this date, but it may not be near other attendees and it will be subject to availability.
