About the Position:
The School of Computer Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment in Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position is in Human Computer Interaction.
The candidate should have an established research record in one or more aspects of Human Computer Interaction, with demonstrated interest in diverse aspects of the practice and discipline of Human Computer Interaction. We are first and foremost interested in applied research in this field and invite applicants eager to build a strong, externally funded, visible, innovative, and internationally recognized research program.
The School seeks to maintain its commitment to excellence and recognizes that increasing the diversity of its faculty supports this objective. As such, we especially encourage applications from candidates from groups underrepresented in Computer Science and/or with experience in mentoring students from such groups.
A Ph.D. in Computer Science (or closely related discipline) is required by the position start date. Candidates should provide evidence of strong international-calibre research potential and should have a commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate Computer Science courses and graduate Human Computer Interaction courses. We will favourably consider applicants with an interest and demonstrated aptitudes for building bridges with community, industry, and government agencies.
