About the Position:
The School of Computer Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment in Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position is in Software Engineering. The candidate should have an established research record in one or more of the fundamental aspects of software engineering, with demonstrated interest in diverse aspects of the practice and discipline of software engineering. We are first and foremost interested in applied research in this field and invite applicants eager to build a strong, externally funded, visible, innovative, and internationally recognized research program.
We encourage applications from candidates from groups underrepresented in Computer Science and/or with experience in mentoring students from such groups.
A Ph.D. in Computer Science is required. Candidates should provide evidence of strong research potential and should have a commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate Computer Science courses and graduate Software Engineering courses. We will favourably consider applicants with an interest and aptitudes for building bridges with community, industry, and government agencies. Candidates are expected to contribute to our program improvement, including curriculum development, accreditation, quality assurance reviews and departmental/university promotion events.
