Kevin Schneider, PhD

Dr. Schneider has held a number of of leadership positions at the University of Saskatchewan, including Department Head, Vice-Dean Science, Chief Information Officer (acting), Special Advisor Digital Research, and Associate Vice-President Research (interim). He has served on program committees, NSERC grant selection panels and committees, and co-chaired workshops and conferences. Prior to joining the University of Saskatchewan in 2001, he was President & CEO of Legasys Corp., a software research and development company. An IEEE Computer Society Member and an ACM member since 1989, he has published over 100 papers and supervised/co-supervised dozens of graduate students. In addition to his leadership and industry experience, he has expertise in advanced software analytics, human-computer interaction, visualization, software maintenance and evolution, programming languages, and data intensive discovery. He is involved in a number of research projects, including an NSERC CREATE in software analytics and two Canada First Research Excellence Fund awards, one on food security, and one on water security.
