The School is seeking outstanding candidates with proven track records of developing and teaching courses in computing science and programming.<\/p>\n<p>The School of Computing Science is among the top computer science departments in Canada and internationally, with excellent research and teaching programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. SFU is located in Metro Vancouver, which is rated one of the most livable areas in North America. The School of Computing Science offers programs at two campuses, in Burnaby and Surrey. SFU provides competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a collegial and vibrant work environment.<\/p>\n<p>Lecturers are considered an integral part of the School, and they contribute to its academic mission of teaching and preparing computer science students for competitive industrial careers and advanced graduate studies. Lecturers fully participate in the administration of the School and have voting rights similar to those of tenure-track faculty on all School and University issues. Analogous to tenure-track faculty, Lecturers can be promoted to Senior Lecturer and University Lecturer (equivalent to Full Teaching Professor) ranks, and they can apply for partially\/fully paid study leaves for career advancement and professional development.<\/p>\n<p>The responsibilities of teaching faculty include the following:<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Develop and teach university courses. The School has open teaching needs in its Professional Master\u2019s Program in Big Data, such as Computational Data Science, and Big Data Labs.<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Supervision of capstone projects<\/p>\n<p>- Contribuer activement \u00e0 l'instauration d'une culture dynamique au sein de l'\u00e9cole, en apportant des services dans des domaines tels que<\/p>\n<p>o Int\u00e9grit\u00e9 acad\u00e9mique et conduite des \u00e9tudiants<\/p>\n<p>o Recrutement d'\u00e9tudiants et sensibilisation de la communaut\u00e9<\/p>\n<p>o L'apprentissage exp\u00e9rientiel et la coordination des projets d'excellence<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Curriculum development<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Promoting an inclusive and diverse academic environment<\/p>\n<p>o Liaison avec les \u00e9tudiants<\/p>\n<p>Le candidat id\u00e9al doit poss\u00e9der les qualifications suivantes :<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A post-graduate degree in computing science or a related discipline (PhD or Master\u2019s).<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Academic and\/or industrial experience of teaching and developing courses mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent communication, leadership, and group management skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty salaries at SFU are based on the salary scales bargained between the University and the SFU Faculty Association.
