The School of Computing at Queen\u2019s University invites applications for a teaching- and education-focused, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with specialization in Computational Intelligence and applications in Software Engineering and\/or Cybersecurity. The preferred start date for the appointment is January 1, 2026.<\/p>\n

This is a teaching-focused appointment with a primary focus on delivering exceptional undergraduate and graduate education. The normal teaching load is five courses per year (approximately 70% of the overall workload), with the remaining time devoted to research\/scholarship and service.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree completed at the start date of the appointment. The successful candidate will provide evidence of:<\/p>\n
Scholarly work and\/or teaching experience applying Artificial Intelligence in Software Engineering and\/or Cybersecurity;
\nStrong potential for outstanding teaching contributions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels;
\nAn ongoing commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence in support of the School\u2019s programs.
\nCandidates must also provide evidence of an ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary, student-centered environment and be prepared to contribute to service at the department, Faculty, University, and\/or community levels. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Proven capacity for research in areas of Computational Intelligence, including (but not limited to) generative AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and evolutionary computation.<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Demonstrated expertise in applying AI methods to Software Engineering and\/or Cybersecurity in either teaching or research contexts.<\/p>\n
