The Department of Computer Science (CPSC) at the University of Calgary seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must possess a PhD in Computer Science (or equivalent) at the time of appointment. The successful candidate must demonstrate evidence of a track record of publications in high quality journals and conferences. As an alternative to a publication record, outstanding achievements in the computer games industry need to be demonstrated. Successful applicants must also show a strong willingness to contribute to the department’s innovative teaching and research initiatives.

The successful applicant must have demonstrated expertise in computer game design, 3D modeling, digital story telling, computer game environments, and applications of computer games for simulation and training in teaching and learning.

The candidate must show strong interest in multi-disciplinary approaches for creative content creation, construction of collaborative and immersive environments, innovation in game-driven teaching and learning, or augmented intelligence applications for game design, navigation, and engagement.

The applicant should also be able to work in close collaboration with other researchers at the University of Calgary. Interdisciplinarity in an applicant's research is an asset. There will be opportunities to be engaged and take leadership roles in our Computational Media Design graduate program as well as in Entrepreneurial Thinking and Digital Innovation initiatives at the University of Calgary.
