
The 2018 INFORMS Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and the Management Sciences for outstanding examples of operations research, management science and advanced analytics in practice was won by a 19-member team US Federal Communications Commission team that included UBC Computer Science researcher Dr. Kevin Leyton-Brown and two of his doctoral students, Alexandre Fréchette and Neil Newman.
