ACM Celebration of Women in Computing (CAN-CWIC) 2019
The ACM Celebration of Women in Computing (CAN-CWIC) 2019 event will be taking place at the International Center in Mississauga Ontario on November 8/9th, 2019. This event will draw more than 700 attendees from all provinces across Canada. This year we are offering a free sponsorship opportunity for all schools that support 10 or more students to attend the conference. Your support may be in many forms; paying registrations for students, supplying a bus (if you are close enough) or helping with student airfare. In order to quality, you must be sending at least 10 students. Join Queen’s University, the University of Waterloo, the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary who have already committed.
As a sponsor, your school will have their logo displayed on the CAN-CWIC sponsor page as an Academic Sponsor, thus showing your commitment to inclusion and diversity and you will have the opportunity to set up a table in our career fair (an excellent way to recruit graduate students). You will also receive a complimentary registration for a representative to attend the full conference as well as an exhibitor’s pass for someone to work the booth.
This conference is in it’s 9th year, first as an Ontario conference for five years and now as a national Canadian conference. It has been a huge success. The program features several keynote speakers, panels, workshops, a poster session, a graduate forum and a huge career fair. The event is highly subsidized by our many corporate sponsors and, as a result, we have been able to keep costs low for student attendance.
If you would like to become an Academic Sponsor or would like more information, please feel free to contact Wendy Powley. Wendy would love to hear from you — and definitely would like to see your students at CAN-CWIC!
