The Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time, tenure stream position in the areas of information systems, and/or human-centered data science.

The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor pr Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024. We seek candidates whose research interests are in human-centered approaches to technology, in areas such as but not limited to: artificial intelligence; machine learning; algorithmic fairness, accountability, transparency and bias; privacy and security; data analytics; database systems, information retrieval; business intelligence; technology ethics and values; critical design perspectives; and/or software engineering. The search is not restricted by subfield, and scholars with interdisciplinary interests are encouraged to apply. Professional experience in related areas will be a strong asset.

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Information, Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Statistical Sciences, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
