The Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University (http://www.cs.dal.ca) is seeking to build new capacity in the area of information systems and management. This is a probationary tenure-track, tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor, as agreed at the time of hire and based on the applicant's previous experience. The successful candidate will be an outstanding scholar who holds (or will have completed by the time of appointment) a PhD in information systems or management information systems with a strong technical background; or in Computer Science with a strong applied focus on Information Systems. Evidence of an aptitude for both research and teaching is essential. The ideal candidate’s teaching and research should have an applied focus on areas including design and implementation, systems analysis and development with an understanding of the digital economy and digital transformation. Additionally, evidence of academic leadership is required as the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to either the upcoming Master’s of Digital Innovation, or the Bachelor of Applied Computer Science.

The Faculty of Computer Science is developing a new Masters program in Digital Innovation jointly with the Faculty of Management. It offers Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Applied Computer Science, Master of Computer Science, Master of Applied Computer Science, and PhD programs. The Faculty also partners with other Faculties in the University to offer the Master of Electronic Commerce, Master of Health Informatics, and Master of Science, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics programs, and is an active participant in the Interdisciplinary PhD program.
