The School of Information Technology invites applications from candidates with a strong background in the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence generally, and specialize in data protection and the various surrounding advanced disciplines (including, but not limited to, data privacy, data security, digital rights management, legal issues related to data and access to information). The candidate should show a strong record of teaching and research in the field. An understanding of data visualization and human-data interaction will also be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels, supervise undergraduate capstone projects and graduate students, and develop new and revise existing courses; (ii) build on their existing record of research with publications at top-tier international forums, develop a strong, externally-funded research program offering exceptional training opportunities, and pursue dynamic partnerships with industry and government organizations; and (iii) assist in the administration of the School’s ongoing activities.
