The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo is hosting its fourth annual Undergraduate Research Opportunities Conference (UROC). The conference will take place from September 27 – September 30, 2018 at the UWaterloo campus.
The conference offers students the opportunity to explore research through a series of group-work sessions tackling a mini project alongside a professor. Social events and panel sessions will give attendees the chance to connect with current graduate students and find out about experiences in graduate studies. This is a two-day conference that is fully funded for successfully selected applicants.
New to 2018, UROC is adding a research pitch competition for students who currently have a project or idea that they wish to develop.
UROC is open to all undergraduate students currently studying within a computer science, mathematics or engineering program at a Canadian or American university. Participation is selective; academic excellence is important, but we highly value creativity, leadership, dedication and diversity.
More information about the conference and qualification requirements are available online. Applications are due online by July 31, 2018.
